Talalay latex: named for developers Leon, Joseph and Ansil Talalay, Talalay latex is molded latex foam. The Talalay process introduces natural liquid latex rubber into a closed mold that has been vacuumed of air. In the process the foam is frozen to create uniform bubble sizes, flooded with carbon dioxide to catalyzed the material and then vulcanized to lock in a uniform bubble distribution through the foam.
temperature-neutral memory foam: Originally developed by NASA to compensate for the G forces astronauts endure during takeoff, visco-elastic foam is a very popular choice for mattresses. Memory foam conforms to your body in response to body heat but returns to its original shape as you move. Temperature-neutral memory foam conforms in response to body heat, but does not reflect the heat back to the sleeper, making a more comfortable sleep surface.
ticking: a heavy, strong fabric used to cover mattresses. Traditional ticking features a white ground with indigo stripes. Present-day use of the traditional ticking pattern is more common as an upholstery or drapery accent fabric.
